Nomenclatorial Notes:
We synonymise Stigmella rosaefoliella pectocatena Wilkinson & Scoble, 1979 from Canada with S. centifoliella. The authors overlooked the fact that these represent in fact the introduced European species, which is rather different from North American S. rosaefoliella, that only externally superficially resembles it and has very different genitalia. Details will be published elsewhere. (from van Nieukerken 2016)
